I set 2 dozen Silkie eggs last Thurs but my digital thermo/hygro didn't seem to be working anymore so I went out and bought a new one. I also picked up a cheaper little secondary digital so I could have a second opinion. I put them in and was way lower than the other... Like 5 degrees lower. I went out and got some brand new batteries to put in my old one and it started working again - I guess the batteries in my drawer batteries were old. So right now I have two digital thermo/hygros, one digital thermo, and one mercury thermo and every single one reads different!!!
The old thermo/hgyro reads 97, the new one reads 105
, the little digital thermo reads 96, and the mercury reads 100... What the heck?!?!?! Now I don't know which one to trust - I definitely don't trust the new thermo/hygro - I'm pretty sure it's way off. It does not feel 105 in there and that one is WAY farther from the other three readings so I'm taking it back if I can. First of all, what should I do until I can get a new one? Second, what is the best/most accurate thermo/hygro out there? I'm SO sick of messing around with this thing - I will spend extra money if I have to on a nice one!
