These are dyed, right?

I dont have any problem with people doing it for their own amusement, or even for easter as long as they are honest. I know it doesnt hurt them. I have a friend who used to dye his rabbit just for his own kicks. I'm with the others who just dont like the apparent dishonesty of the seller.

Ok, I couldnt help it. I sent them this email:
"I saw your fancy colored silkies! If I breed a blue and a rose, will they make the lavenders?"

Yeah and one lovely lady I met actually dyes her dog every year with leftover food coloring from easter eggs. Dog doesn't care. As far as the dog knew it was just getting the usual bath. Lotta people wouldn't agree but meh. I'm not one to condemn people for what is harmless fun and in some ways bonding for owner and pet. Not that I plan to dye anything myself anytime soon... I have dyed chicks purely for identification in the past though. XD

I saw an article where a zoo used genetian violet on a polar bear with a skin condition. The purple bear looked pretty neat, lol.

Gentian Violet is probably at your feed store under the trade name "BluKote" and has been the most reliable livestock wound dressing for a very long time; a friend of mine once had to ride her grey horse into 4H equitation competition with purple zebra stripes on his legs where he'd gotten into broken barbed wire.

I got it in the pharmacy department at walmart. I had to ask where to find it but they had it but I imagine drud stores would carry it too.

I have no problem with people dying their own birds for fun but I do not like what this person is doing.

*nudges to reread post* ... in fact when I asked for blu/e kote; they said they'd never even heard of the stuff before so would be unable to order any for me.

That is an idea, I sometimes forget it has uses in human medicine. After googling it though I wonder if it comes in a diluted spray or if I'd have to do so myself so I don't use like the whole thing painting chickens XD
