These are my 4 week old mille fleur D'uccle pullets or roos

Yep I'd be pretty sure both your little 5 week olds are roos too, there is far too much red going on in their combs at that age for them to be anything but! gorgeous birds though

I don't know anything about the Sussex, but I'm pretty sure you're d'uccle is a Male. I have 4 right now, and your Male looks just like mine. Notice how he stands upright? Plus the comb is sticking out. On my girls, it's either flat(no spikes) or it's teenie tiny, close to the scalp. I also noticed my girls filled out fast with feathers, they look like teenie tiny fluffy hens.. but look big compared to the Male who seems weeks behind them in size. They are so sweet, id encourage you to try again for girls.

I have a question...I have a porcelain D'Uccle, and I posted pictures of mine. I read your post and everyone says I have a roo. I have seen other hens and have seen them with red combs too that look like mt Chicken Little. Does your pullet have smooth hackle feathers? Can you post pictures of a hen and a roo?

Mine are still pretty young.. only 4-5 weeks.. but the boys will get red (pink) on their combs... i do have a girl w pink, but the comb is flat.. ill look for your other posts to see if i can see the difference in yours.

Btw, they all end up w combs once they are old enough.. the girls just have small ones. They turn red when it is time to lay eggs.

Just replied to your post w pics.

Anyone want to offer a guess on this little chick? 4 weeks old. Comb seems a little spikey and tall. Not pink yet. View attachment 3433616View attachment 3433617
So pretty! This one has me a little stumped. The top pics had me thinking female, but that last shot shows more growth over the "nostrils" which is what i look for.. im reluctantly saying male... would love to see it again in a few days.
