I bought 6 baby chicks from the tractor suply store early March. They said they were RI red or NH reds Or Red star. Needless to say the chicks Are a buff collor or orange. Does any one have a clue to what kind of chicks they are? These birds are very skidish. My rocks and Ri reds were never shy. I hope by spending time with them and hand feeding will make them friendly like my other birds.

Red Stars maybe? Can production red's be that light?

Buff orpington's? They look like they have the white colored legs my orp girls have.

They Are March babies Im not sure how old they have to be to tell what they are ? But I like the collor alot. I didnt want to buy 25 from online so I wait and went local . the farm and suply store dosent have a clue. Just hope that there a good layer LOL.

I'm a betting man and say the yellowish/blondes are Buff O's. I have only one out of my 9 total and wish I had gotten more. Mine is at the top of the pecking order as well.
