These are probably easy to identify...please help, what type of hens are these?

couldn't the tan ones be buff plymouth rocks? that would explain why your friend thought they were the same breed. barred plymouth rock= buff plymouth rocks. and what about the rooster, what breed is he?

Oh, I am so confused; however, the buff plymouth rocks look like both of them...exaclly from all pics I have seen-now the rooster....that is a whole another story....looks similar to my wyndottes, but he is still pretty young just purchased this last spring with the other hens in the pick - I am just going to call them "my birds" to put my mind at ease.

Just for the sake of accuracy, it is called a Single comb, not a Straight comb.

Well heck, I showed you guys all the rest....here is #6 of the batch which my friend purchased - the other rooster if it helps at all to identify the breed(s)
