These breeds are a bit of a mystery!

Here's a pic of the comb
400

One might be a Welsummer or Golden Laced Wyandotte (Golden Laced are not too rare) and the other looks like a Rhode Island Red, one of the most common breeds out there.

I'll have to call ideal and see if they can tell me the breeds that can be included in rare breed special. I called before and they didn't know what they sent me :/

I'm sorry for your loss

Buckeyes have the same down color as Rhode Island Reds at this age and have pea combs, so it isn't likely, but it's as good of guess as any I can come up with.

The first one looks like a Welsummer to me. Here is my Welsummer from Ideal Poultry hatched 2 weeks ago today:

There are a few Welsummers in here, for instance the one with a wing in the water bowl and the one standing to the right. I am sure you will see an Easter Egger (puffy cheeks) and a Buff Orp. The chick standing on the green goo in the purple bowl is a Welsummer rooster (that one I am sure of as he was marked) Please just let me know i you would like a close up of any of these chicks and I will send you one if I have it.

I have no idea what the second is but it is one of the cutest chicks I have ever seen. I can't wait until you find out what it is. I REALLY hope you post and update when it is older.

Also, I am sorry to hear about your chicks. I ordered 15 shipped from Ideal, but I am only a 2 hours drive from them, they were fine. I did get 6 Brabanters from Ideal at a local feed store here and they ALL had to be nursed back to health. They all made it but it was really close for 2 of them. I don't know who was to blame. I can only imagine the stress you have. I am sorry for your loss and best wishes. I can't wait to see what your two chicks grow up to be.

Thank you! It was difficult to deal with those poor chicks that passed. I will definitely update on the second chick. Does the first chicks feathers look like how your welsummers did after a week old? The feathers seem really light for a welsummer.
