These darn raccoons

Hi guys! I was wondering anyones way they‘ve repelled raccoons? I had one bust through my screened in porch tonght where my baby chicks are staying until I get my new coop finished and built.

I know squirrels hate hot peppers. You can get dried hot pepper pieces and just sprinkle them on the outside perimeter. It will also offend the chicks, so they will stay a few inches from the perimeter so the raccoon can't reach in.

Can you keep your chicks in a more secure area, such as a closed shed or garage or inside your house for a short time? Raccoons go for easy food so make sure there is nothing attracting them to your porch like food smells or scraps.

I was wondering anyones way they‘ve repelled raccoons?

Other than catching them in the act of trying to get to birds? Keeping birds in secured (relative to raccoons) run/coop.

I get my trapping permit every year and partake in a bit of that as well if raccoons make their presence felt. SSS.

Coons have received too much free PR from Disney.
