I've been away from home since Sunday. Talked to DH yesterday, and he said that he thought something got my favorite mama hen. Her 5 one month old babies were wandering around looking lost. Today he told me that the dog had cornered a big mama coon and her four little ones near the coop. Problem has been eliminated, and the little ones will not grow into big problems either. DH found hen's remains in the coop last night when he locked the chickens up (they free range). We think she trapped the hen and chicks in the coop during the day, and killed the her as she defended her babies. Darn coons....
