I am sorry. That is awful! You at least found one. Poor thing watched her friends get taken.
Take out the predator before you suffer any more heartache.

Just had a friend who lost all his hens, and runner ducks in one night do to a dog that got in his yard. Tragic. He loved them like we do. We have a collie, that protects ours. As a herding dog, it's natural for her. If she see's a turkey vulture, hawk, coyote, whatever, she goes into defense mode and keeps harm away. I've read about other dogs that do the same, that may be a good way to go. Sorry for your loss :-(

OH, I am so so sorry for you... It is so hard to lose them. But yes, you should start over. You will find new happiness with new chickens. But before you start over, evaluate your coop security. There are lots of ways you can make it pretty much predator proof. And wait for a while, til whatever got yours gives up and goes away.
