Come out, come out little chickies!

OK, I have 3 or 4 Buff Orp chicks now. One of those is from Pumpkinpup, the others are from hinkjc. I have 2 BLRW from Barnyard now and another pipped. One BLRW from Katy is pipped. More SS chicks. It's hard to keep track of everyone, but I'll get totals when the dust settles. I've had to help a couple out of their shells because I lost two that I didn't help earlier today. I have too much invested in this hatch to be too patient and lose them.

I think I have a total of 15 or 16 chicks right now. More are pipping and zipping so I'll update tomorrow on what I have.

One Delaware is hatched. I had to help it out. I have a Buff Orp from hinkjc that is zipping right now and a BLRW from Katy that is pipping/zipping. One more Cuckoo Maran is hatching and another BLRW from Barnyard just hatched.

How did the rest of the hatch turn out?

The hatch is finished now. I ended up with 8 Speckled Sussex chicks, 4 BLRW, 2 Cuckoo Marans, 4 Buff Orps, and 1 Delaware. I had a couple more buffs and Speckled Sussex, but they failed to thrive and died within a day or so of hatching.

The good news is that the remaining chicks all appear healthy and are doing well. I am really hoping to get a nice SS rooster and a nice BO roo out of this hatch. My wife is really happy about the Cuckoo Marans- they will go into her layer flock if they are females.
