After spending all of day 21 worrying that I may have had a 0% hatch rate (happened earlier this spring), day 22 brings new life! I am happy to say that I have 2 out so far and more are beginning to zip. 41 total eggs in the incubator, 39 chicken 2 turkey. So now we wait and see how many I get. The two that are out are running around and seem healthy.

Question for experienced hatchers. I know they can go a couple days in the incubator after hatching, but realistically, how long should I wait for more to hatch before transferring them to the brooder? Any other advise is also greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Congratulations! I usually wait at least 24 hours before transferring to the brooder.
Earlier if it’s a smaller hatch & it’s complete or if it’s a big hatch & the incubator looks crammed with hatched chicks I will move some to the brooder to free up space. Carefully but quickly so that the incubator is not open for too long.

Good luck with the rest of your hatch.

Congrats!
I would wait a few hours before moving them to a warm (not too hot) brooder.
I would never leave them in for more than 24 hours.
The quicker they start eating the better.
