I have two roos that insist on sleeping on top of their respective coops. I tried to get the one to go inside last night as it was going to freeze here in South Texas, but he was insistent about staying outside. They're both fine this AM.
My old German Shepherd prefers sleeping outside in his open-door crate but the other Bernese comes in easily. I had to get a leash to get the GS in last night!
The doxie just sleeps under the covers with me -- no questions asked!
The smaller chickens (9 weeks old) stayed in their heat-lamped coop until they heard me bring warm pasta and corn for their cold weather breakfast. That mixed with starter/crumbles -- YUM !
