They just "fell" into my cart...

I guess this thread could just as easily called "They just fell into my heart!"
Yes! They all do, even Kevin who's name originally was Karen, because he is the loudest, most obnoxious, most flappy and flighty chick I've ever had! He's now came into himself and is a sweet boy. He's the first to run to me when I go out on the porch, and peeps at me. He's stopped flapping so much, too. Still looks like a deranged Muppet, though. 😆

My first four geese were called Tilly, Lilly. Milly and Curley.

They are now named Tilly, Leonard, Millard and Curley.
Man, do I have a bunch of she to he chicks!
DeDe to Dante, Molly to Milo, Maureen to Maury, Wendy to Willy, Karen to Kevin. I've stopped letting the Rural King employees pick my chicks, and I don't think I'm getting anymore RIR, because aside from Dante and Kevin, the rest are RIR! We now have more RIR roos than hens. 🤦🏼‍♀️
And these are all in the last 8 months. Fingers crossed that my Golden Laced Polish will stay Beatrice and not turn into Bernie.

Very good planning! My run is my property, all 10 acres, although I try to keep them close to home. Someone help me if the geese discover the pond half way down the driveway! All in all I have been very lucky. The biggest problem I have is with dogs that are allowed to run free, or escape without their owners knowledge. Most people have livestock of all sizes in this area and tend to me conscientious.
I would love to let them free range but I have a pit and a labradoodle. Fox and coyotes are always a threat and two years ago I had a black bear open the sliding barn door and help himself to the basket of eggs I forgot on a bench just in the barn entrance the night before. 😳 Yup that happened! Guessing the snorting horses were enough of a deterrent for him to not wander further into the barn.
