I have but they keep flying out. I dont want to clip them to short so they can still roost.

Put netting over the top.

Whenever I have chickwns ecscaping I clip thier wings by cutting the feathers up to the secondaries and that usually stops it. After a few times they think they cant fly anymore and I dont have to do it so much.
