Don't laugh, but we did the same. I lost a pullet last week to a hawk, and now we have the hawk obstacle course. We put T posts and zig zagged them, with scare tape tied to the top. And did I mention that they are close enough together that if the hawk tries it, it should smack it's wings. (yup, I looked up wing span) And we put up a windmill. It cost $40 at Harbor Freight.

So to hell with looks, as long as I don't lose another chicken.
