They started laying finally HELP lol

So my three little girls started laying. I finally found their eggs in the roost area of their house, also in the egg boxes. Of course they were frozen we had a freeze. I haven’t even looked in bottom of house too cold and damp to get on knees. Question is how do I get them to lay only in their boxes?

Try some fake eggs. You can buy them at Tractor Supply.

Or golf balls.

Anything reasonably round and sort-of egg-sized should work.

I use both fake eggs and golf balls. Both work.

Also, my birds when they start tend to drop eggs in strange places, even when the rest of the flock knows where to lay. They usually figure things out in the first week or so. Except ducks. Ducks can stay stupid for a while.

FYI although not suitable to sell or 'gift' once frozen, eggs can still be used to make omelets etc.
