Hi everyone! I’ve had chickens for years and know they are hardy creatures. Still, I have never hatched eggs in the fall and put myself in a position to have to move them out to a winter situation.
They were born October 13 and fully feathered. They have been living in the basement at 54 degree temps and tonight I moved them to the coop. It’s a 4x 4 solid wood coop with the door closed and lots of straw. There are 6 of them together.
It will get down to 22 degrees tonight, which is a big difference, but the warmest week we have had in a while. They will be ok, right?
Someone tell me they will be fine. I feel so awful for them!!! But living in a basement didn’t seem very healthyfor the whole winter!!
Or tell me if they won’t be fine, too!!
Thank you everyone!!!
