They won't eat pellets

They will eat them once they get hungry. They are chickens and will be a little confused at first. But it's not like they'll starve to death simply because their feeder has pellets and not crumble.

They have you trained better than your kids did, put it on thier plate, and no one gets desert till the pellets are gone. They will eat it and like it, show them girls who the boss is.

I'm just going to echo what the others have said. Put the pellets in the feeder, cut way back on the treats and watch how fast pellets all of a sudden look good to them.

Somebody is trained, bit I don't think it is the chickens!

I agree with the other BYC'ers, if you are giving them desserts even just in small amounts, they will NOT eat the pellets. Be tough! Remember they are chickens. It won't be long and they WILL eat the pellets and then you can spoil them with treats again.

I remember my parents saying that! Eventually them will come down off there little prima donna chicken ladder and eat what you have so thoughtfully pelleted out for them.

Same thing happened to me, but we got two bags instead of one! well, I stopped all treats, no corn, or grain etc, and in a couple days, they caved and started eating the pellets, now they would rather have the pellets than the crumble, and they waste less too!

As long as they can see other foods mixed in with the pellets that are more familiar, they will pick around the pellets. If they dont see anything else, they will eat the pellets, and they taste the same as the crumble.... (you dont want to know how I know this!

) So stop all the alternatives, and they will figure it out, its just a matter of familiarity, not taste, TRUST ME!
