I have had absolutely NO luck so far this year with hatching eggs. I've lost at least 4 or 5 dozen eggs, maybe more, and I set a batch of EE's that I bought from someone here on BYC on the evening of the 6th, but I wasn't holding my breath that they would hatch. I've been checking them constantly, monitoring the temperature, making sure everything is right, and on the afternoon of the 23rd I put the bator on lockdown. I went in this evening around 7 to check the temp and see if I could hear any peeping, and when I looked in the little window on top, I saw a pip! I was so excited that my kids heard me and came running to see for themselves. So my kids got it in their heads to sing to the eggs, because that's what they did last year with eggs we had then, and we only had one little hen survive that hatch, but she peeped like mad and zipped really fast as my younger daughter sang to her, so the kids thought they would try it again. Apparently they like music by Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, lol! As they sang an egg at the back of the bator began to pip, and it started peeping too. So far it's ahead of the other eggs and we can see a beak and an eye! We're so excited here! I just had to share with all my BYC friends!
