I’ve raised several flocks from chicks. Mostly dual purpose breeds and Easter eggers. This is my first time with banties… Assorted, straight-run OEGBs.
They’re 11 days old today, and I’ve already witnessed a mock “cock fight” that lasted a good 20 seconds.
They were both standing straight up, looking like they were each trying to be the tallest, and butting chests as they circled around each other.
I think I’m going to have my hands full!

I love them OEGB! They are so entertaining. For about the last month or so my hen has been hiding her eggs in the feeder, you go in and see tail feathers sticking out, I thought she was eating until I found an egg in there. The new chicks are so cute flying too. Man are they fast.

Aren't they so much fun to watch... mine are just over 4 weeks old and this must be the equivlant of the teenage years because everyone including the girls are often caught in a stand-off.... who ever looks away first gets pounced on. It's all in good fun though right now it seems if it gets a little too serious I just do a quick poke to the instigator to remind all parties who is actually the "top hen" of this flock. They also seem to have "who can fly the highest competitions?" with each other like they are trying to show off in front of the rest.
