Don't get me wrong... I love my 3 little chicks that are comfortably set up in my livingroom ( I have nowhere else to put them) but they are soooo noisey! I've been sleeping on the couch out here with them, and I've noticed they're alot like newborns, only worse. A baby you can usually rock to sleep, these guys you can't. They only sleep for a little while at a time, and eat 'round the clock! It was 2am and I was laying on the couch listening to "cheap, cheap, cheap" It was cute at first.... I try to close my eyes and pretend it spring. They cheap, theres nothing wrong. I totally understand the "help me, or feed me cheaps" I think I'm going crazy! Or at the least turning into a hen!

Anyway, does anyone have any expertise in this area? When will these guys sleep through the night? They're 2 weeks old now....

Try giving them a Stuffed toy to snuggle with .. Also are they crowding around eachother? Staying in the cool side of the brooder.. They may be too hot or too cold or just want something to snuggle with.. The fun part is when they are learning that those flappy feathery things can make them fly.. I would be dead asleep then hear thump as they hit the top of the broodr followed by every chick in the brooder Peeping away talking about what just happened.. Gotta love them silly lil chickies..

Tried the stuffed toy, and all they did was play king of the mountain and fight over it. They're comfy, when the do sleep, they're spread about. I catch myself telling my hubby and kids to shhh! Don't you wake the babies!

They need a feather duster hung from the top of the brooder! It's cute to watch them peeking out from the feathers just like it's their Mama and hiding in it. Have fun with your babies!

I had a chick that I hatched and I rocked him to sleep. It worked for some reason and I'd put him in a cloth crochet/knitting box and cover him up to his neck with a blanket and another blanket over the top of the crochet box. He would sleep all night and wake me up with his cheeping in the morning, but not until the sun came up.

Since then, I just keep chicks in my office or the basement, so I don't hear them if they do cheep during the night.
