Things I have learned since getting chickens...

I learned how fast a flock of chickens can clean a chicken or rabbit carcass after it has has been boiled and cleaned for stew. When I first got them I thought they only ate vegetables and stuff like that.

yes they will eat the diamond out of your wedding ring!!!!
Be careful when opening the back door without treats in your hand
Never ever yell "Chick chick chick" unless you mean it!!!!

keep your glasses pushed up on your face when the chickens are on your shoulder. I learned a painful and expensive lesson there LOL

I have to wear walking shoes all the time because of foot problems.

I learned to have one pair to wear at work and one to wear around the chickens. I learned NOT to wear the pair to work that I wore around the chickens. The heater under my desk REALLY circulates that smell around!

some people think its strange when you would rather be with your chickens than your kids(my chickens don't back tall_ except for miss thang)

I am 6'1" in heels, but the feed bags are heavy, and I am a wuss. If it is too high, I will have to lift the bag over my head, balance it on top of my head, steady the bag with one hand, aim the pouring feed with the other, and then raise up on tippy-toes to intiate the tipping of the bag.

NEVER in a million years. I can imagine it: all the chickens are standing around my feet, heads cocked, waiting like little velociraptors for some sort of weakness.

If you have a bowl full of mealworms and a handful of bread NEVER EVER EVER sit on the ground to give chickens treats.
