This year I'm not going to plant as much and take a big break!

While I'm thinking, "But oh wait, we really like to eat __________ and it's never as good at the grocery store."

I'd love to take a year off and support farmer's markets, but around here with all of the touristy stuff, everything at our frou-frou farmer's markets often costs an arm and a leg. Can't afford to support local farmers and we love good food, so we garden.

Chard is pretty bomb-proof if you sow it at the right time for it not to bolt.

I did Swiss Chard last year and it did seem to do well! I may plant some more of that this year.

It's the only thing in our area that the worms don't eat. Therefore, we eat it haha!

This year, I'll be ahead of the game with the garden. I'll hoe up the early weeds. I'll rake up lots of thatch for mulch. When planting day comes, I'll be ready. No last minute scramble to get the ground or beds prepped.

And... I have a nice bridge I can sell you... cheap!
