I have a red sex link that isn't afraid of anything. I'm always amused as she comes right up to me and the rooster gets upset and runs over to herd her over with the group.

I have a mixed flock and from the beginning similar colored chicks bonded with eachother. We got a bantam rooster, Duke, dark gray cochin by "error". And he's turned out to be the funniest of the flock. The rest of the birds are standards and he befriended a Black Australorp Pullet Holly. Holly has stood by his side and defended him at times. Then there is Roger a New Hampshire who is in love and best friends with Sunny my BO pullet. Duke without fail will try to seduce Sunny away from Roger any time he can when Roger isn't looking. There are other hens of different varieties for him to gain affections but he remains focused on Roger's gal. He'll sneak into the nest box and try to catch her there. Watch her as she meanders away from the flock a bit and move in with a grasshopper or special treat he's found. When Roger finds out it's hilarious. Duke high tails away from Roger squawking all the way with his little feathered feet carrying him as fast as he can. He's a love bandit of sorts. Gosh I'm smiling and containing a laugh as I type this. In fact I should do a little story on my "Love Bandit." Holly still tolerates her two-timer but she belongs to the head of the flock, Roger now these days. LOL.
