Things your hometown is famous for . . . .

St. Francisville, LA is famous for The Myrtles Plantation. The most haunted plantation in the US (except for Ruth's place).

Then, moved to close to Lindale, TX home of Miranda Lambert.

Henryetta Oklahoma:
Former Home of NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, 16 time World Champion cowboy Jim Shoulders and the mascot used to be the Fighting Hens. Not bad for a town of about 5,000. Oh and lest we forget, I used to live there.

Morgan Hill, our mushrooms... the kind you buy at the store. We even have every year....

don't know if my town is really famous for anything but here is 3 close to me....

5 miles away is DuBois,pa it is the birth place of tom mix(famous cowboy who knew wyotte erp and many others and was in movies) and used to be the town they had the origional tom mix festivals but they nolonger have them. i believe they are held else where now out of state not sure why.

meadix(sp) run it is about an hour or so from me it is the home of tom mix and his old house still stands u can see it. just beautiful. as well as a statue about him to honor him. if i remember right that's how it goes it may be the opposit he might have been born raised here with his fam and dubois is where he later lived when older and famous. it's been since i was a kid the last time i was told the legend so forgive my rustiness.

punxatawney, pa(probably spelled it wrong, lol i'm used to it as punxy) is about 20 min from my house and it is famous for punxy phil the famous ground hog that sees his shadow every year and predicts the weather on feb 2nd. phil and his woman and kid's and gradkid's live there. some live in a artificial habitat in the wall of the punxy library. you can view them outside of the building or go in to the library and sit for hours reading books and watch them play in the water together. the others i believe all live with his master and forgive me i can't think of his name off hand but it's who phil wispers his predictions to.
