Think an owl got my Delly :(

I went out this morning to let out the flock. I'm down to only four standard birds (three hens and a rooster), a Pekin pair, and three bantams (two hens and a rooster). Well, today I went out and noticed something off about the flock, couldn't put my finger on it. Then I found my sweet Delaware pullet, who had chased off a crow twice her size just yesterday, missing her head and the meat from her neck.

She must have been sitting on the ramp leading into the duck house. Love you girl, RIP.

It happened to my Maran pullet just the other evening. I had two young ones that hadn't figured out to go into the coop yet. I was about an hour too late to shut them in. I want the owls around though because they keep all the rodents down. The good thing is that the other pullet starting going in by herself after that night. Lost one to save the other....

Aww so sorry. I am down to 18 from 30. Coyotes mostly but one was taken by a hawk.

I would throw the cat outside to handle the rodents and chase off the owls IMHO
