So I have one chicken that I noticed is just standing still with her eyes closed or blinking a lot. I picked her up looked her over she looks okay her belly and head feel warm I can hear her breath and it sounds a little congested she is drinking water but I haven't seen her eat today I offered her some and she didn't eat it but when I offer water she drinks. I just noticed that her poo is a light cream to greenish color and real frothy. On july 2 I did give all my chickens piperazine because one of them had worms but they all look fine and act good but this one. The other girls are picking on her.so i have her by her self. I just don't know what to do to help her. We lost the chicken that had the worms on the 4th and I really don't want to lose another one. The one I am worried about was fine that I could tell until today. Any help would be great I don't have a vet in my area that deals with chickens.Thank you.

May I ask how you know that she died from worms?

Green poop can mean several things....she isn't eating and it's full of bile or she has a bacterial infection. Do you have any antibiotics on hand?

the one with the worms she had been missing for a few days and we finally found her she was really dirty looking so I gave her a bath an noticed little worms in the water so that day we went and got the medicine for her I kept her by her self and would check her she seem to be doing a little better then on the fourth she had so many coming out of her vent so I assumed she was to far infested with the worms that, that mixed with the medicine was just to much for her.

I don't have any antibiotcs on hand but I can go get some her we where thinking about geting some anyways. She does not have any signs of worms that I can tell and we were going to give them another round of wormer in 14 days. My chickens are abouts 6-7 years old.

Are you sure that they were worms and not maggots? She was probably eaten alive with maggots..they will crawl up her vent. Deworming medication would not do a thing to stop those.

not sure my husband was thinking they might have been magots after I showed them to him how would she get them like that?

how would I stop the maggots from doing that to my other girls and how do they get them in the first place? All my girls have clean vents and only eat veggies and chicken feed and grass and stuff like that.

Flies. They will lay eggs in dirty bottoms. The eggs hatch and the maggots move into a moist environment...the chicken's vent. If your chickens are clean, the flies will have no place to lay eggs.

The one that disappeared probably had diarrhea or something that caused her bottom to get dirty...then the flies moved in :(
