You could let her have MySpace with your supervision... I did this with my boys... I had their password and would access it randomly.. ask who friends were and more importantly read messages.. And if I saw bad language I would actually post back on there with a message from ME> Everyone wins this way.. She can have it, but warn her you will be checking it often. Also.. your assumption is probably right as we mothers have that keen instinct of knowing our children.. BUT.. could she be taking it to school and selling it? still not good, or does she just like the taste of it.. My 8 yr old loves medicine.. cough med is the one he likes the least... but he know he only gets it when he's sick becuase too much will KILL him.. OK>. I told him too much is bad for his kidneys and will make him very sick.. As a mom of 5 boys.. (girls are probably worse for wanting to fit in) Fight your battles wisely and sometimes let her think she is winning .. pay attention to what the other girls are wearing (makeup , hairstyles etc) If she is feeling like she does not fit in , help her too.. Make sure she feels GREAT about herself and who she is.. within boundries of course. But first you have to get her to open up and let you in. Just an Idea: Don't let her know what your intentions are... If she likes the mall.. Take her shopping and make the day ALL about her.. Listen to everything with an open mind and as hard as it is.. don't criticize anything that day.. If her choices are good, try to nicely say , well thats nice, but lets see what our other options are.. buy her a CD.. her own shampoo, maybe a little perfume.. LOL Im rambling.. sorry.. (grin) Is she physical challenged in any way? overweight, zits , bigger boobs then her friends.. or smaller then friends.. All these not important things in our adult life but are very very important to them.. Always remember back.. I remember when I couldnt go to a game or dance.. I thought the world had ended.. Even though I look back now and think.. WOW.. if I could just to back to those problems again.. LOL
and I the ending note.. I did the ipecac once.. they sell it in small 2oz bottles and that amount will not KILL her.. My 2 boys ate a whole bottle of kids tylenol.. poison control said it wouldnt hurt the oldest, but the toddler depending on how much it could damage something.. Well I didn't know who ate what and at that point I was so made cuz the 4/5 yr old new better.. they both got the ipecac and he puked and puked and puked.. It was a great lesson.. So I would mix it in the cough syrup bottle and dont forget to mark THAT bottle somehow. Also you could scratch a line on the back of the bottle to mark its levels and check it daily to see if its going down.. if it is, then you know she's drinking it..
If she says she drinks it only when she has a cough (and she does not) talk to the doctor and have them give you sugar tablets in a prescription bottle for her.. she will think she's getting something and she's not.. OK>> sorry again.. maybe to many opinions.. and by all means.. these are just my opinions.. hopeing something works for ya soon.. I feel for ya.. Kim
