I'm on day 15 of incubation.

'I just candled my eggs, and out of 5 there is one who has thick veins. A couple days ago, 4 had thick veins and one appeared to be without or clear, I thought it died. Today, I found some small thin veins.
Should they not all have thick veins by the air cell?

If you see a really dark vein that makes kind of a ring around the egg, then it's probably the ring of death. If you google a pic you'll know what I mean.
If there are no veins at all, then it wasn't fertile.
If the veins look too small and few to be day 15, then it probably died.
If you see anything moving, it's alive

I recognized the ring of death of early eggs.

Of the 5 eggs, yesterday when I look at an egg it seemed there where no veins beside the air cell and it seemed clear, today I detected small veins. I'm new at candling but was delighted in the thick red veins of before, knowing that was a sign they were alive.

Last night I put them in egg cartons at an angle as I knew they would be getting themselves in position so I thought the upright position would be best for them. Before they would be at a slight upright angle against the wall. Would changing them position, putting them in an egg carton tray change the blood flow or something?

I only saw one with thick veins today.

I will be leaving the eggs tin. They are to hatch next Thursday with lockdown on Monday. Perhaps I didn't candle them right.

Fingers crossed.

so I doubled check the eggs, out of 5 the are 2 for sure alive. I will probably open one of those that died for the children so they can see the development.
