I think you may be right. My Delaware hen does not have any barring through her back and tail (only on her collar). Yours also has a very upright stance, my girl is squat and round. Bummer.
Hi,
I have a few chickens I am new at keeping them have enjoyed everyone of them. I have one that looks just like yours sold to me as a Delaware hen. It is very chatty and really friendly always comes running and trying to get the food before anyone else does kinda seems rougher than the rest but each one is so different haven't heard him crow. He doesn't have any spurs but he will throw up his neck fethers and confront an easter egger that was sold to me as a hen and I now think she could be a roo. When I purchased them they were young and now have gotten up to maturity. They neather one have given me any eggs yet but for that matter none of the other 5 have either. I have a pure Brahma roo that is the king and at first cookie seemed to pay a lot attention to him and so did Susie-Q. Big Bird is easy going and doesn't seem to have any trouble giving them food when they comes over to him or any of the other ladies but I just notice that SusieQ and cookie will run up to each other throw up there neck feathers then back off and run away. Big Bird is the only one of the three that trys to mate with the other ladies. Havent seen him doing that to cookie or Susie-Q. BB is the only one that crows I guess I will keep them until they crow then I will know for sure.
