I'm thinking about breeding Muscoys. They are nearly impossible to get here in NJ. I need advice before I start. I know mama duck does all the work. How many males to females? Will breeding them change their personality? I need them to stay friendly. Will the males try to breed with my female runners? Will the male runners fight with the Muscovys? Can I take the ducklings from their mom with out her getting resentful? I have 1 female goose will they bother her. Can you mix colors of ducks or do you have to stay with one (black & white) Will they have issues with my hens? I'm sure I'll have more questions but this is a good start.
Thank You

2-5 females per male
Breeding them will make the females very mean when there on thier nest but after the babies are gone she'll be nice, if she was nice to begin with...
The males will definatley try to breed with your runners so keep em' seperate.
The males might fight alittle but nothing to major usually
You can take the babies from mom. thats what I do. makes her a bit mad but she'll get over it.
You can mix colors but they wont be pure and you might not be able to ask as much if your going to sell them.
I'm not sure if your chickens will be bothered by them.
good luck
