what do you have now?? they are definitely different than chickens......and definitely harder than keeping coturnix in cages. you need larger area(s) for flight pens that are secure not only from predators but also from escape.Thinking about getting into pheasent and other game birds Are they hard to do??
Do they taste better than chickens or u cant eat them?depending on the types you are planning to keep and the area that you live, there may be permit/inspection requirement from state fish and game dept. there are different feed and other housing requirements etc
Technically you can eat any bird. But most are too expensive to be worth eatingDo they taste better than chickens or u cant eat them?
It all depends on your overall plan.....personally I raise my pheasants as pets because they only lay during breeding season and take nearly 6 months to grow out for meat with relatively low yield. I raise coturnix, Cornish cross as main meat source along with rabbits because grow out is less than 12 weeksDo they taste better than chickens or u cant eat them?
