Thinking about getting meat birds, need help finding a butcher

I live in North Texas. I have googled and cannot find a poultry butcher. Is there a website I can go on to find one near me?

Try calling your county extension office, in the phone book under county government. Some agents are better than others, but he/she should have a clue where to look.

I'm not sure who licenses them in Texas. Somebody in State government, public health or maybe agriculture? Does your state have an information office you can call or e-mail? Or maybe try your county health department.

Talk to people at your feed store or maybe put a notice on the bulletin board if they have one.

Look for someone in your state who does slaughter.
this list comes from the USDA, and your state may have a list too. In my experience, the list was outdated and only minimally helpful b/c of how far away from me all the processors are.

I suggested a week or two ago that we create a sticky of meat processors in this forum. Perhaps you'll keep notes on your calls so you can contribute.
