Wow, LeBwah! Beautiful aviary. I want one, but I’m not willing to build it so I’ll most likely settle for mobile cages in the barn during summer and the greenhouse (almost finished) in winter.
This is the thing. Most people have other responsibilities than just the animals. I have around 50 chickens all told. Four ducks, four geese, thirty turkeys, three heifers and a bull. And three dogs, who are pets. That’s a light load compared to lots of folks here. BUT if you want pets, half a dozen is way more doable.
I thoroughly enjoy walking among my flock. They come running whenever they see me. It’s so endearing and funny. I can pick one up if I like, but they don’t beg to be picked up. For that, they kind of have to become pets and I just can’t have that many pets.
But I really can't see 50 of any animal making for a personable or entertaining pet.
