Hi everyone,
Im new to this forum, I currently have quails, and chickens and im thinking on getting a pair of ducks, my question is regarding housing for the ducks, I have 2 silky hens and a rooster, my plan is to put them together with the ducks if I do get them, my pen is "L" shaped but its about 56sq ft, so my question is is it enough space for the chicken and the ducks? and is a little pool really nessesary for the ducks?
Im thinking on getting Rouen ducks btw. thanks in advance

That should be enough space. A pool isn't neccessary, buy highly reccomended. It helps clean out their nose, and gives them something to do. Good luck!

Would they get alog tho? Ive read ducks can be pretty messy, are they all that messy when they dont have apool?

Yes, ducks are messy no matter what.... It's a fact of life. And chickens and ducks get along fine, just watch your drake for the first couple of days to make sure he's not overmating the chickens.....

i have 2 ducks and 3 chickens together right now. a pekin, swedish, and 3 silkies. they love being together. i had a kiddie pool and one of my hens fell in and drown so i would say NO to the pool. but give them a decent size water bowl

or have a kiddie pool outside the pen that you let them get to
