Thinking About Selling Hatching Eggs

Quote:
Hey, if you're interested, I know a woman who has some of Matt John's Delawares. She's not selling eggs right now, but will be this spring. I judged some at her county fair and was very impressed by them. Good type, and almost perfectly correct color (those tails are so hard!!) PM me if you want her contact info.

Thanks so much for the offer! I'll have to check that out in the spring. Right now, I'm battening down the hatches (no pun intended, LOL) for winter and not really expanding any of the flocks much. I love the Dels. And you are right, it's very hard to get things right on the breed, especially with the males and females having different tail attributes. It can be a lifetime project.

I really think that people will pay for real quality in the older breeds. For instance, there is just no comparison between a hatchery RIR and a lovely, dark breeder quality RIR. I have both and even the sizes are completely different.

Yes, I honestly think you have to double mate the Delawares to get the tails right. Which means even more pens! More than I could do now, or I'd take the leap for them.
