I have a partridge rock that I want to show at the fair that is coming up. I doubt she is show quality, but I want to show her for fun. What should I do get her in "shape" for showing? Feeding, housing, etc.

Thanks, I have seen EE, RSL's, baby ducks, and baby
Guineas. Not to mention the poor quality birds that get ribbons. I MIGHT have a chance.

Just make sure your bird is clean, in good flesh and free of parasites. If a feather is broken in such a way as to make it noticeable I'd pull it out just before the show. Other than that, enter your bird and enjoy the show, win or lose it's supposed to be fun.

I hope things go well for you.

I'm showing my hatchery birds at our county fair as well. I know my Sebrights aren't show birds, but they're beautiful nonetheless.

I remember on another showing thread (there's been A LOT lately), that you need to make sure they are handled often and make sure they are used to being in a cage.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes!
