Thinking about "teaching"

a "chicken care/ownership" class at the local community college.

Anyone have a "curriculum" I can copy from?

I am also looking into starting a 4H group with an emphasis on pet(egg producing) chickens and back yard gardening. So many kids here have NO clue about this type of thing.

The local 4-H / Extenstion office should have a wealth of information. I know the national 4-H website has info too.

Great idea! Sounds like it'd be fun!

Just start by making a list of all things you want to teach. Then figure out how many sessions your class will be. Start breaking it up by that.

When my kids learned about chickens for homeschooling assignment. We started with breeds and characteristics. Then to feed and care. Then coop/run designs and dimensions. I forget what else we covered. But take your topics you want to cover, and break it down into the sessions. Do you have a fav. reference book? Suggest or require the purchase of it prior to class (or prior to second class)
