Thinking ahead.....bigger & more frequent eggs....

I'm wanting to add some new hens to our flock next Spring. I'm wanting large or extra large eggs as frequently as naturally possible. Any suggestions on breeds? Thanks!!!!

I have a white leghorn that lays super huge eggs every single day and she is over a year old! I got her from my uncle. I also got a speckled, and 3 Americanas. They are all the same age and the others lay sporadically at best. The speckled seems to lay every other day or so, but her eggs are more medium size.

I have 5 more that are just starting to lay. A buckeye, Cochins and a welsummer. So far they are just laying small starter eggs so I couldn't tell you more about their regular size.

My hatchery Barred Rock lays the largest egg in my flock and she's 3 1/2 years old and still cranking them out 5 days a week. Other great choices for jumbo eggs would be sex links and Leghorns.
