Just an update. Yes... Colonel Custard (aka Frances a-Cee-Cee), is indeed a cockerel. I ended up with three boys - Pierre, Pepper and Cee-Cee and had to find them a new home due to neighbours complaining =( They went to the Animal Rescue and Retreat all the way in Kent! So they have lots of land to roam about on within a big band of cockerels. No wives, but they do have lives. Here they all are after their journey - just emerging from the box. They were very well behaved and it was really hard saying good bye. Pierre soon crowed after hearing the other cockerels... Cee Cee was a little more subdued. Hope they are doing okay - I have been assured that they adjusted well to their new home. Hope to visit them this summer!
