Thinking of adding Cochins to flock?

Hi! I’ve been thinking of adding some Cochins to my flock. Wondering about the temperament and anything else anybody has to offer! Also, are bantams or standard sizes “better,” and good places to get them from.

I love that bantams. Have two good chicks I hatched and if you lived near me you could buy one. I never had the full sized but the bantams are great. Very treat motivated and curious.

Yep came form 2 great breeder stock birds. No disqualifications in them. They white goes away it is just baby feathers. In am in central Florida. The breeder of not breeding stock is in Florida too

Wow that is far. Well if you get them young I say train the tails. I will sit with each chick for about 5 minutes and push their tail up. It builds the mussel so when at show they don’t put it down.

When my son requested Cochins in this spring's chick order I asked and was told that since Cochin bantams are so docile that it would be better to get standards because the bantams would be picked on unmercifully by my other chickens unless I could keep them in a separate flock.

Yeh weird thing you learn every day. One on my hens is supposed to have a 75% angle for her tail. But she holds is on ever 90%!!! She looks part Serama
