Thinking of adding deathlayers

I am one state over. The eggs ship well it only takes me a day to get them, and she gave me a few extras, and free shipping. I have gotten 3 shipments over that many years. I found her on Ebay, (potluck eggs) but then looked her up and got her address. Many people from WA and OR, Cal that I visit with use her.

If you just want to look at her eggs you can go on ebay, she has a list it is long, and she has pics of her birds.
That sounds lovely! I will look into her as well. Have you had any issues with your death layer hen at all? I'm interested in first hand experiences and no one local Has even hear dof them. Has her laying (if shes of laying age) been pretty good? Any notable health issues?

Always ask a lot of questions about birds that are fads (Ayam Cemani, Deathlayers, anything imported by Greenfire, Mosaics, etc.) or birds you are paying a lot for. I always advise asking a lot of questions in general, but especially with breeds like that. There are a lot of unscrupulous people out there that are just looking to make a quick buck. Just today I saw someone buy a trio of "Silver Ameraucanas" on here that were all Easter Eggers. I had a friend online buy two Lavender Orpington pullets for $60 each. They were both visually cockerels when she sent me pics and the breeder refused to refund them or swap them.
Oh yes, I have had enough of those experiences this year and by enough I mean one that was highly disappointing. I bought a pair of silkies. They were both to be normal silkie feathered. The rooster ended up being a satin. Not the worst case. I still took him as he was pretty. Sixty for the pair. I regretted it so badly. I could not even walk to the nesting boxes to get eggs. Or to my car. To get my mail. Or sit on my porch. HORRIBLE human aggression. I'm trying to be more thorough now lol. It was my fault. I didn't ask enough questions. The ones I did ask were not answered honestly though. Unfortunately.

They are fairly easy to find. I know a few people in Texas that have them.
My step dad lives down in Texas with his daughter and wife (re-married). He's been looking for silkies. Are they fairly common down there? I didn't think he'd have so much difficulty
