I wonder if Stockholm tar is the same as pine tar. You can get pine tar at some farm stores. The name might be unique to Australia.
I used the pyrethrin based cat and dog ear mite treatment form the pet store. I did research online and read it was safe for chickens. I have also used ivermec paste from the farm store for chickens who don't like to be handled. This particular flock of chickens was not hand raised and would never let me soak their legs, so I dosed according to weight and fed the dab of paste hidden in a bit of soft bread. I can't say the ivermec worked quickly, but it did work.
He is a cute rooster, who looks like a mix of breeds. I hope the alpha rooster of the flock accepts him.
