Thinking of getting peafowl how do you winter them? I'm in Alberta

Hi. I might have found the opportunity to have some peafowl on our farm to add to our chicken collection how easy are they to keep and what is the best way to winter them? Also wondering their disposition?

Try contacting barryk, he too is in Alberta. I'm from Ontario, and don't have the same issues with the colder winters, but basically if you keep them out of the wind during he winter, they should b fine.

I live in Florida , so weather is good here mostly. I do remember one year we had a freeze for three days straight. The birds had ice on them and could not fly down from the tree. They did not eat for three days. I think they would have to weather indoors. just my opinion, nothing more.
