Ok, gotcha. It's easy to misunderstand the written word sometimes. I know I forget other people may not "translate" things the same way I do.

The way I understand it yes, a nice sebbie should be very profusely feathered with soft curly feathers all over the body. The curls, if I'm not mistaken, being rather important. Hopefully someone with a good, full grasp on the breed standard will weigh in though to clarify exactly where these particular geese lie on the scale.

What if you have no choice? I just sold one for $40 and I have another for sale for $60 (a nicer gander) and not one person is wanting to buy. I've had him for sale for months.

I don't like to eat goose so I don't really want to kill them...so my next option is to try to practically give them away.

could it be becouse he is a boy? I know its like that with chickens, lol

I'm a little hesitant to enter the fray here but here's my opinion...
...with a disclaimer...as much as some people like to bestow the title on me,
I'm not an "expert" when it comes to Sebastopols.
I simply have a website, Seb forum and talk about them a lot.
That does not make me an expert, just a lover of the breed.
I'm only an expert in my own backyard.
Having said that...to the original poster's question... your Sebs don't look that bad
but I would say they are pet quality (its hard to tell sometimes from photos)
although the one on the left in the first pic has a fairly nice head and neck .
Your Sebs have some stiff feathers that stick out awkwardly but this is
a common trait in this breed and they don't have enough of the long, drag on the ground feathers
or the over all volume of feathering we would like to see.
From the posted pics I can't see their breast feathers very good
but it looks like they might be a little sparse in the upper breast area.
Depending on their age (maybe I missed that) and
under ideal management they could possibly look better.
I sell my pet stock from $50. - $100. but keep in mind the economy
is bad. I sold one of my best 2010 gosling ganders this fall for $100.
He was probably worth $200.
Depending on your buyers, you might be able get around $50. - $100.
for a PQ female and maybe around $50. for a male.
You can ask those prices and always come down if you have to.

BTW, Olive Hill is right when she talks about the value of the parents meaning nothing.
Even being a show champion does not mean their offspring will all be SQ
or any of them for that matter.
Hope this helps and good luck with your sale!

Oh your so awsome, thank you so much.
How do you tell if they have curly or smooth breast?
Yep, ther feathers look more brittle, i think if i kept them under better condition and payed more attetion on them , i think they would be better looking, i am planning on trying to show them so from now on i will be planning a better thing for them.
I did notice sine i started free ranging them there feathers starting comeing in longer and bit better that they were before.

What do you feed your sebbies? I love how yours look, your look soooo smooth.

Yea i now about the parents quilty may not show up in teh off spring, its the same in chickens. you can have am award winning hen and roo but teh chicks can come out with flaws. I was just upset when i said that, i was not thinking logic and i do appologize for that. i do know better.

I guess it depends on the area you live in.....I don't like to ship adults unless i have to so I ask $100 a pair for breeder quality and less than that for pet quality. I sell my better birds for $100

I feed my geese whole oats, Kent Multi-Flock pellets, kelp meal (free choice) and just addded
Fertrells Poultry Nutri-Balancer (chelated viamins, minerals & probiotics blend/link on my website)
and Fertrells Aragonite (to replace oyster shells) plus they have grass pasture and fresh water DAILY (SO important!)
I have a tips for raising waterfowl page on my website you might want
