She/he is close to 4 weeks old and has a reddish comb and stout little legs! Plus, I saw him watching over all of the other pullets while they were sleeping. What do you think, is this a roo?

Thanks Lady of McCamely, So sad.....I only got bought one Buff Orp for broody purposes.......sigh, I don't think this little guy is going to be doing any setting. He's so sweet, but I already have 2 roosters. Darn, I guess I'll have to rehome him when he gets big enough...

Well it never hurts to wait it out, but with BO's, for me, it is usually the boy that is slow in developing that is hard to figure out rather than an really early developing female...I guess there is always some hope we could be wrong.

I plan on waiting before rehoming him, I want to be sure, but that comb is awfully red for not even being a month old yet....my heart is broken.

I agree that looks like a cockerel. If you already have two roosters maybe you could rehome one of them and keep this little guy instead?

I have a BO Rooster and he is just lovely. He looks after his girls very well and is not aggressive towards humans. I would thoroughly recommend them.

I won't cull him, he is adorable and sweet as pie. I'll try to rehome him, or keep him. You can see how sweet he is. I have 15 pullets and he has already taken on the role of watching over them.

I already have 2 Cream Legbar roosters (Heir and a spare), If I keep him, I'll need a few Buff Orp hens for him....LOL.... We shall see.....
