This came out of Maymay's eye!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!

The only way that you will ever know for sure is if she passes and you have a necropsy done. I hope MayMay makes a full recovery and her symptoms are never repeated.

True. However, if it is negative, what then? I never mentioned LT...just that if you want a definitive diagnosis of WHAT the illness is then, a necropsy would have to be performed. I think I even mentioned if she were to die...that would be a little late for a living tissue swab.
The bird does not have to die to get a diagnosis that she does not have ILT; a swab of the throat can be taken and tested.

I have to agree with this. Although I hope that your chicken pulls through this, the only way to know for sure what you're dealing with is to have a necropsy done IF/WHEN she passes. Leadwolf knows full well what I dealt with recently, treating my roo for anything and everything, only to find out from the necropsy that it was Marek's, and he wasn't showing classic symptoms.
I did find this site helpful though for some other things: http://partnersah.vet.cornell.edu/avian-atlas/
You can do a search by disease name, lesion location, and exam findings and it will show pictures and descriptions of abnormals and normals. A word of warning though, a lot of the pictures are very graphic and disturbing.

Good luck with her. I hope you find some answers soon!

Reminder, this might not have been an illness/disease, it might have simply been an injury, like a sharp blow to the head (maybe she whacked herself getting down from the roost...) that caused a rupture in a vessel behind the eye, resulting in blood/clots coming out the tear duct. It would also fit with her feeling poorly for a few days. And if that is the case, she should make a full recovery... I realize it's a different species but my cat that injured herself did it 10+ years ago, never had a problem since and is still going strong.

good and bad. She ended up having another set of blood the next day. I noticed her scratching at her face and eye. The blood in the corner was a lot runnier. Not really a clot, but it did start to coagulate a little. She was up eating great, drinking and being herself though. When it started to bleed a little, she sat down and rested for an hour or two. When that happened, flys attacked her butt that i hadnt rinsed off yet from the runny poos she has had. Needless to say fly eggs were found and I rushed her to the sink and washed her really well. I had found them (eggs) a week back and had been watching her REALLY close and washing her behind twice a day. Yesterday morning she's fine. No blood. I am starting to think she scratched herself really bad or broke the blood vessel. I did just give her frozen corn before it happened both times. Maybe she got a 'brain freeze' from the corn?????

Yesterday i came home from work early to check on her and found what i had really REALLY dreaded. Maggots on her behind. Fly Strike. I ran her inside ASAP and put her under the sink faucet and started to pick them off. OMG... the grossest thing I have ever seen and done. Ran up to TSC to get 'SWAT" to try and kill them and save her life. Got her fixed up and kept her in with me. She is in a nice air conditioned comfy laundry room today when I left for work. She did eat well last night, and it didnt seem to be bothering her much. The area looked a little discolored this morning, but no more maggots.
My POOR MayMay......

She is a Red Sex Link that I rescued in 2010 from the Buffalo SPCA. Not sure how old, but at least 3 - 5 years old.

Fishnet you are such a good chicken Moma. I think that is wonderful that you rescue chickens. Glad you caught the fly eggs in time. I didn't know they would go after a poopy butt I thought there had to be a wound. Something to watch for.
