this carnt be normal

Yeh im giving them grit. Am i doing wrong by this? I thought that if they were eating greens they would need it.

No, I'm not saying it's wrong. I was just curious. Mine never touch the ground at 9 weeks, so I have never had to give grit. I was just shocked to hear it. I keep them on 30% protein for a long time.

I actually started giving my peachicks a little chick grit because their turkey starter has little bits of corn in it. And like you, mine aren't on the ground .

@kuntrygirl, when do you let yours out on the ground? They were living in a stable, i was just collecting grass for them. They are now 11 weeks old an I finished the new turkey shed and run on Tuesday so now they have moved in to there new quaters. Ill get some pics posted soon.

I know you didn't ask me, but in summer weather, any time after about 2 weeks they can be let out under supervision. And after 4-5 weeks they should be feathered enough to let them out during day light hours.
