This chick has a lump on its head

Most breeders prefer their Silkies have vaults (though not all) and I believe they are a part of the standard for Polish.

Can anyone with access to the standard (whichever country) confirm or deny this?

It is soft and squishy, slightly movable but doesn't seem to bother the chick when I squeeze it. Nothing comes out. It is a really large lump - it seems to be his entire head. I've tried to take a better photo but it's still not great, sorry. There are a few feathers growing out of it.

Did you ever find out the cause of this? Did the chick survive? What was the outcome? I had the same thing happen last night. (Chick hatched from blue egg as well)

The chicken can have fowl pox which is a disease that comes from mosquitoes it can cause lumps, eye swelling and much more but again I may be wrong.
