between the weather and the way my hubby works my girls are going to be grown before they get a coop

Now thats a chicken coop !!! I will be visiting your BYC page for details ,congrats to you "master carpenter" and your DW "one lucky lady"

Do you get much snow there? I ask because I was wondering about the snow/ice shedding off of the roof when the fenced pen is under the slopped side of the roof. I started to do this on my old coop because it provided a better set up for access to the coop but decided against it. Anyone else cross this issue off of thier chicken coop building dilema list?

I love the angles on your roof, and think that bigger is better. It would just be impossible to make it too big! I can't wait to see it finished. We are all hoping you get done before Easter, what a gift! PEEPS!!!

I think an answer to this would be: Cover the run with the same angle as your roof, blending it in like a long porch, keeping the overhang. That would also prevent the mud pit it will turn into after a while. Even with deep litter, it turns to mud. Just leave a little door to allow free-ranging in the yard for the sunshine. So nice.
